Our commitment
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across School Compass. Accessibility is considered during design, development, and content updates.
Keyboard navigation
Interactive elements including navigation, search, filters, and forms can be operated with a keyboard. Focus indicators are visible on links and buttons.
Screen reader support
- Semantic headings and landmark regions (header, main, footer)
- Labels on search fields, filters, and form controls
- Status messages for dynamic content where applicable
- Tables with headers for school listings on larger screens
Visual design
Colour contrast follows GOV.UK-inspired guidance. Status badges use text labels in addition to colour where possible.
