How Admissions Advantage works

Admissions Advantage answers one question the free profile cannot fully resolve: can we realistically get in? It uses published DfE admissions statistics, multi-year demand trends, and School Compass portfolio rules to help you build a balanced application list.

Admissions pressure
We translate DfE oversubscription ratios into plain-English pressure bands (very low through very high) so you can see how contested a school is on published data — not guess from reputation alone.
Oversubscription
Applications-per-place shows how many families applied for each available seat in the latest published cycle. Rising trends over multiple years are flagged when demand is climbing.
Portfolio planning
We classify schools on your list as reach, target, or safety options using hard eligibility rules — selective grammars and heavily oversubscribed schools cannot be labelled as safety schools.
Realistic school choices
Named alternatives are ranked safety-first, with target and reach schools for comparison — so you build a list you can live with if your first preference is full.

How it differs from Parent Report: Parent Report judges school quality and gives a would-we-apply verdict. Admissions Advantage goes deeper on competition, portfolio mix (reach, target, and safety schools), and alternative options — without neighbourhood crime or family-life pillars.
